TITLE:- About CITS course.

OBJECTIVES:-
At the end of the lesson the Instructor trainee should be able to:-
1)    Specify about CITS course. 
2)    Judge teaching and instructing.
3)    Associate the principles of teaching.
4)    Transcribe between pedagogy and andragogy

INTRODUCTION:-
Plan to make the first day of training.
A good first day sets the tone for the entire year. Trainers goal, objectives during your first meetings with your students (trainees) should be to establish a positive relationship with your class. Do everything you can to make a positive connections consider the following
Seven things students want to know on the first day in institute/ organization/ school.
1. Am I in the right room?
2. Where am I supposed to sit?
3. What are the rules in this classroom?
4. What will I be doing this year?
5. How will I be graded?
6. Who is the teacher as a person?
7. Will the teacher treat me as a human being?
Get to know your students names.
}  Use name tags
}  Put names on student’s workstations.
}  Have students introduce themselves.
INFORMATION:-
CRAFTS INSTRUCTOR’S TRAINING SCHEME
  •  The success of training depends on recruitment of competent personnel as trainers.
  •  First course for pedagogical training was conducted for 21 days under the supervision of British experts.
  • The serious inadequancy of this short training necessity to urgently modify the scheme and to have regular instructor training programme.
  • Industrial training & instructor was planned based on recommendation of an expert committee and this was approved by the National council & government of India.
  • Accordingly May 1948 CTI for instructors was established at Koni –  Bilaspur in M.P by D.G.E.T, M/s Labour government of india.
  • Later this was shifted to Dasnagar, Kolkata and new institute was established at Anudh camp, Pune, which also was shifted to Mumbai.
  • Four more institutes for craft instructors training programme were also established at Chennai, Hyderabad, Kanpur & Ludhiana.
  • Fifth at New Delhi exclusively for women craft instructor training programme was also established. Later named this one as national vocational training institute for women (NVTI)
Profession
Choice of profession is a very vital step in one’s career. It is a way of life choosen for earning our livelihood. Eg: Doctor, Engineer, Lawyer, Teacher, etc.
  Teaching Profession is divided into two ways,
     (a)   Teaching
     (b)   Instructing
Teaching
ü   Teaching is helping or guiding others to learn and acquire knowledge.
ü    Also leads to the proper path of learning.
Instructing
ü   It includes teaching & doing i.e., they should fulfill both knowledge & skill.
ü   Instructor tells what to do, shows how to do, along with reasons & why to do.
ü   Instructors imparts (06) W’s + (01) H’s. (What, Why, Who, Which, When + Where & How).
      This is where the instructor goes one step beyond or ahead of the teacher.
      Learning to be a good teacher takes years of training & experience and there is no substitute for this experience.
PRINCIPLES OF TEACHING (P O T)
  • The study of POT will provide you grooming & training to him.
  • Every person who intends to be a good teacher or instructor.
  • Everyone have certain inborn qualities.
  • Qualities can be acquired by proper systematic training & grooming through experience.
  • A well trained and experienced teacher is an asset to the students as well as the institution for which he is working.
This Curriculum which covers the following objectives as follows,
      To develop the skills
      To provide training
      To promote a sense of responsibility
      To understand one’s deficiencies
      To equip as an instructor
      To promoting the appreciation
      To develop types of test items

POT OBJECTIVE:
      Developing the skills required to analyse the trade syllabus, planning and organizing trade training in practical skills and related instructions.
      Providing training in the methods of applications of instruction (pedagogical knowledge) for effective learning of trade skills together with techniques of evaluating the work of trainees.
}  Promoting a sense of responsibility for the proper upkeep of the equipment, tools, machineries and other materials entrusted to the care of the instructor and the ability to maintain and operate the system of record keeping in practice.
}  Understanding one’s deficiencies in the trade area (both practical & theoretical) and overcoming their shortcomings so that full technological competence is achieved.

}  Promoting the appreciation for the need to keep abreast with current developments both technical and pedagogical knowledge and skills.

PEDAGOGY:
     It means Pedagogy is the art and science of teaching children.
ANDRAGOGY:
v              It means Andragogy is the art and science of helping adults to learn.
v              It is an organized and sustained effort to assist adults to learn in a way that enhances their capability to function as self directed learners.
